PENDAHULUAN Saat ini telah terjadi peralihan sistem telekomunikasi dari yang bersifat tradisional menuju sistem yang rendah biaya, fleksibel berbasis sistem IP (Internet Protokol). IP PBX (Internet Protocol Private Branch Exchange) adalah PABX yang menggunakan teknologi Internet Protocol (IP) sehingga menjadi perangkat switching komunikasi yang dapat mengintegrasikan jaringan telepon konvensional (PSTN/POTS), jaringan telepon bergerak (GSM/CDMA), jaringan telepon satelit, jaringan Cordless (DECT), dan jaringan berbasis paket (IP/ATM). Fungsi-fungsi yang dapat dilakukan antara lain penyambungan, pengendalian, dan pemutusan hubungan telepon, translasi protokol komunikasi, translasi media komunikasi atau transcoding serta pengendalian perangkat-perangkat IP Telepon seperti VoIP Gateway, Access Gateway, dan Trunk Gateway. TUJUAN

1. Memahami konsep dasar IP PBX dibandingkan dengan PABX tradisional termasuk Key Telephone System (KTS).
2. Memahami integrasi arsitektur IP PBX dengan teknologi eksisting maupun teknologi lainnya.
3. Mengetahui keunggulan IP PBX.
4. Mampu memilih teknologi yang tepat digunakan dalam IP PBX.
5. Mengetahui kemampuan sistem IP PBX : Call Distribution, Networking, dan Messaging.
6. Mampu melakukan konfigurasi dan setting IP PBX untuk layanan Data Communication, Messaging maupun VOIP.

1. Introduction to PBX and Network Convergence (towards NGN/fall IP based) : PBX & PSTN, PBX Evolution (Manual PBX, Automatic PBX, Digital PBX), Network Convergence (towards all IP based), IP PBX, Digital PBX vs IP PBX
2. VoIP Networks Architecture and IP PBX : Proprietary IP PBX vs Opensource IP PBX, VoIP network architecture and it’s protocols, VoIP communication procedure
3. Asterisk Server and SIP Client Application : Server Hardware and Peripheral Device (FXS/FXO, GSM Gateway), Operating System and Asterisk Application, SIP Protocol and Client Application (X-lite)
4. Asterisk PBX Server and Network Design (case example) : Asterisk PBX Network Architecture design, VoIP Asterisk PBX Design and Configuration (Internal), Advanced (External Interface), Asterisk Application (Inter-Working with PSTN, Mobile Network, and Internet/WAN)
5. Asterisk PBX server, IP Phone, Softphone Installation and Configuration : Asterisk (Trixbox 2.6) Installation, SIP User Configuratioin (using Trixbox WebGUI), IP Phone setting, User Configuration (IP Phone client), User Configuration (Soft Phone client), Akses ke Database Server Trixbox (MySQL).
6. Additional Interface (Interworking with External Network/Trunking) : FXS/FXO Installation, FXS/FXO Conviguration (on Asterisk server), GSM Gateway Configuration, Trunking Asterisk Server with Proprietary (IP PBX/Panasonic), Interworking Asterisk Server – PSTN/PLMN (IP Phone/Soft Phone – Analog Phone, and Mobile Phone, via FXS/FXO, and GSM Gateway)
