High Voltage Distribution

Instructor by : Tugino   DESCRIPTION This course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills required for local authorisation as a Distribution High Voltage Operator. Through a mixture of classroom sessions and extensive practice, participants will obtain the knowledge, skills and confidence required to safely and effectively undertake a range of operating activities on HV distribution systems external to zone substation   OUTLINE

1. Switching distribution feeders
2. Isolating and earthing high voltage overhead circuits
3. Issuing Electrical Access Permits
4. Locating and isolating high voltage faults
5. Operating a range of high voltage equipment including:
6. Distribution substations (pole mounted, ground and indoor)
7. Auto circuit reclosers and sectionalisers
8. Voltage regulators
9. Required safety instructions and procedures
10. HV system layout, including SWER systems
11. HV distribution line switchgear and transformer types and operating characteristics
12. Access procedures and practices
13. Distribution protection systems
14. Supervisor Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Distribution Feeder Automation (DFA) systems
